Connection to banks

To be able to run those processes that connect to the banking system (e.g. request transactions from bank account and register payment requests for invoices from the sale system) you need to contact your bank in order to build a connection.

What users need to know when contacting their banks is that the system is using a B2BWS connection. When the system needs to connect to the bank (e.g. under Accounting > Registration > Request transactions) you will see the following login window:

The process of building a connection with the banking system may be different for different banks. If the username has not been used in normal online banking business services before, you may need to login to your bank through the internet first. You may need to change your username/password if the bank ask you to do so.

Landsbankinn

Please contact service representative at Landsbanki first. Then you will get a special Username and Password for this connection.

Also, you can use the same information as using normal online banking business service. You may need to undersign a contract and then scan and email to the bank.

Arion banki

You can use the same Username and Password as using the bank's online banking services.

The password for communication between Regla and the bank can not be longer than 8 characters long and it must only contain characters and digits (no dots, commas, symbols etc.). In the first attempt to connect to the bank this text may appear in front of a error message:

„Did not manage to get transactions. The following error text was returned:An error occurred(1000).“ or the text „Rafræn skilríki hafa ekki verið virkjuð“ or similar.

If such error is encountered you need to contact arionbanki@arionbanki.is or call 444 7000 and send the username you used to connect with the bank and some notes proved that you are using the OBWS connection.

The bank will then connect your username to the certificate that the system uses and let you know. After that you will be able to connect to the bank.

Íslandsbanki

Please contact service representative at Íslandsbanki and visit him to undersign contract with the header „Umsókn um tengingu úr kerfi Reglu ehf. í vefþjónustur Íslandsbanka hf. fyrir lögaðila og einstaklinga“.

The service representative will then allow the connection.

Sparisjóðir og kvika

Contact service representative at Sparisjóður or Kvika and check the following.

The company has to have internet bank connection to Sparisjóður or Kvika (admittance group 20 or 21).

Sparisjóður or Kvika then give the customer a username and password and connects ssn 5111861889 for Fakta to that admittance.


Definition of bank accounts and payment requests

Before requesting transactions from the bank you need to define the bank account under Accounting > Admin > Definitions of bank accounts. For more information please see the Accounting manual.

  1. Insert description of definition - can be whatever
  2. Choose your bank from the list
  3. Insert your bank account
  4. Choose bookkeeping key(7810 is the default key for bank connections)
  5. Click on "Create"

Before you can send invoices you need to define the bank account in the sales system under Sales > Admin > Payment request template settings.

  3. Choose account key for note charge (use given key)
  4. Choose account key for interest and charge (use given key)
  5. Choose account key for tax (use given key)
  6. Click on "Update"

Connect bank to payment request

Before creating payment request made from the sale system you need to apply for payment request service at your bank and then register with proper information in Sales > Admin > Payment request settings. Choose to send to bank and insert bank number and identifier of bank.

Choose method of payment for customer or invoice

To send an invoice to a customer's bank go to customer list under Sales > File administration > Customers. Under method of payment choose "Invoice and payment request A". When an invoice is created on this customer this will become the default method of payment.

It is also possible to choose "Invoice and payment request A" when creating an invoice.

OCR line for invoices

Under Admin > File administration > The company you can define that for all invoices that create payment requests to the bank there will be printed an OCR strip down under on the invoices. The OCR strip makes it possible to make payments if the invoice is not sent to the bank

Sending salary from Regla to bank

If you want to send salary payments from Salary system directly to the bank please be aware that correct bank is defined under Salary > File administration > Basic information.
