Move data between Regla systems

To move data from one Regla system to another, you have to read from the previous/old one and then read into the new one. In general, to read between information about Customers and Products.

1. To read from the previous/old Regla system, you need to go under

Sales > Queries > Customer list

and/or

Sales > Queries > Product list

2. When the list opens, the list needs to be transferred to an Excel template, and a copy of the list in question will be saved in an Excel template on your computer.

3. To read data in, you need to start by downloading the data import template.

   a. First, open Manuals and user settings by selecting your username at the top right of the screen.

   b. Next, you click on the desired template to download to your computer, in this case Customers and Products.

4. Next, open the templates and copy the data into the empty data import templates you downloaded. You can get instructions for each column by moving your mouse over the red arrow at the top of each column, and instructions for that column will open.

5. Once you have filled in the Excel templates, read them into the new Regla system by selecting:

   Admin > File administration > Import

6. The input form will then open

   a. Select the Excel template you are importing, in this case, Customers or Products

   b. Select the files you want to import

   c. Check "File contains header line".

   d. If you have customers already in the system, you choose whether you want to upgrade or not

   e. Check the correct File delimiter for your computer (; or ,)

   f. Select Upload file

   If everything is normal, you next select Import and the data will be read into Regla.
